Manager, Awards Processing

About the role

The Manager, Awards Processing leads the team responsible for recruiting, adjudicating and advising international undergraduate students who receive entrance scholarships at UBC. This fixed‑term position supports the International Student Initiative’s goal of attracting high‑quality students to both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end processing of international entrance awards, including application review and cohort selection.
• Provide recruiting and advising services for recipients of flagship scholarship programs such as Outstanding International Scholars and International Major Entrance Scholarship.
• Coordinate with the International Student Initiative to ensure alignment with enrolment and diversity targets.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Awards Processing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting for all award programs and financial assistance initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in international student recruitment, scholarship administration, or related student services.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of university award structures and eligibility criteria.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in higher education.
