Maintenance Worker - Paint

About the role

The Maintenance Worker – Paint provides labourer and semi‑skilled support for the Facilities Management team at the university campus. Working under direct or general supervision, you will assist tradespeople in routine maintenance, renovations and emergent situations related to painting and general building upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic routine maintenance and painting tasks across campus facilities.
• Assist tradespersons and technicians with semi‑skilled duties, following safety and quality standards.
• Support renovation and construction projects as assigned, handling heavy manual and machine‑operation work.
• Respond to emergent situations within the scope of your training and physical capability.
• Ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations and university best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a related maintenance or construction role.
• Valid British Columbia driver’s licence.
• Good physical health, strength and stamina for continuous manual work.
• Ability to follow instructions, use initiative and work safely under supervision.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of maintenance and construction industry terminology.
