Civil Designer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Designer to join Binnie’s Infrastructure Victoria Division, delivering planning, design and construction services for linear infrastructure, streets and transportation projects. You will work alongside experienced project managers, designers and engineers on a variety of municipal projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings using Civil 3D, including alignments, profiles, sections, corridors and pipe networks.
• Perform intermediate‑level design calculations and verify calculations prepared by team members.
• Ensure quality control in line with Binnie’s Professional Practice Management Plan.
• Prepare documentation, design folders, reports and cost estimates.
• Conduct on‑site inspections and support construction activities as needed.

Required profile

• 4–6+ years of experience in a civil consulting engineering environment.
• Degree or diploma in engineering technology or equivalent.
• Eligibility for registration with ASTTBC or ASET.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle preferred.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure, roads or utilities is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of CAD standards and terminology.
