Maintenance Technician II – Night Shift (Montreal)

About the role
UniFirst Canada is looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician II to work the night shift (10 PM – 6 AM) in Montreal. You will join the Maintenance Department and be responsible for repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting a variety of industrial equipment and systems.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Assist with emergency and non‑emergency repairs.
- Diagnose and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and related control systems.
- Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Test and adjust boiler chemical and wastewater pre‑treatment systems, recording results.
- Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs.
- Inspect motors, belts, fluid levels, replace filters, and conduct routine maintenance.
- Carry out basic welding repairs on facilities and equipment.
- Lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other components per procedures.
- Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work.
Required profile
- At least 18 years old with a valid non‑commercial driver’s licence and a safe driving record.
- High school diploma or GED (technical degree preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of experience repairing industrial processing equipment (military experience considered).
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
