About the role
The Maintenance Department is looking for a Shift Supervisor to lead a skilled team of industrial mechanics, apprentices, electricians, and powered‑lift‑truck technicians. You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensure safety compliance, and drive productivity on your assigned shift.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise execution of the maintenance work plan for the shift, handling breakdowns, fire‑safety and HVAC issues.
- Liaise with Maintenance Planners to secure resources and materials for planned work.
- Coordinate hand‑off with incoming shift teams, ensuring clear communication of status and issues.
- Lead daily execution of preventive maintenance (PM), unplanned service, and project/overhaul tasks.
- Work with Operations Managers to respond quickly to equipment downtime and safety concerns.
- Ensure all work orders are completed safely, on time, and to industry quality standards.
- Maintain accurate CMMS (Maximo) entries and oversee 5S housekeeping.
- Conduct quarterly 1:1 reviews, yearly performance appraisals, coaching and disciplinary actions.
- Identify and recommend improvements to equipment efficiency, safety, and crew capability.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Technical Discipline, or a skilled‑trade licence (Industrial Electrician, Construction Electrician, or Industrial Millwright Mechanic).
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a maintenance environment or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of coaching maintenance teams with a focus on safety, productivity, quality and innovation.
Required skills
- Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- CMMS usage – Maximo.
- HVAC and fire‑safety system knowledge.
