Maintenance Mechanic – Handyperson

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Facilities Maintenance team is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the operation, upkeep, cleanliness and appearance of the facility and surrounding property.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine building and property inspections and record work in the maintenance management system.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, life‑safety systems, pumps, generators and boilers.
• Carry out minor repairs such as clearing drains, replacing faucets, lamps, breakers and small motors.
• Handle janitorial, landscaping, groundskeeping and seasonal duties including grass cutting, snow removal and de‑icing.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in building operations, facilities maintenance, janitorial services, landscaping or related fields.
• Ability to work independently, respond to changing operational needs and lift up to 30 kg.
• Valid Ontario G driver’s licence and eligibility for a five‑year background check.
