Project Manager – Facility Management Operations

About the role

Black & McDonald is seeking a Project Manager to lead facility and non‑facility projects within its Facility Management Operations (FMO) contracts in downtown Toronto. The role reports to the Senior Operations Manager and may oversee a team as project volume grows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and standardize project management processes, procedures and tools.
• Prepare and submit construction budget estimates, schedules, milestones and monitor progress.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with architects, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain customer and vendor relationships and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Track project status, provide regular updates to clients and support audits or inspections.

Required profile

• University degree in civil engineering, construction technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of project or operations management experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to obtain reliability or secret security clearance.
• Willingness to travel within the Greater Toronto Area.

Required skills

• PMP certification.
• Advanced analytical and time‑management abilities.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, standards and blueprint reading.
• Proficiency in project budgeting, scheduling and contract negotiation.
