About the role
The Durham District School Board is seeking a Long‑Term Occasional Teacher for Grade 1. This role involves creating a vibrant, supportive classroom where students can thrive and develop a love for learning.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the Ontario curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster an inclusive environment where every student feels valued.

- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.
Required profile
- Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing.
- Qualified to teach Primary (Grade 1).
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful classroom.
Required skills
- Lesson planning and curriculum delivery.
- Student assessment and progress monitoring.
- Collaboration with staff, families, and community partners.

- Salary range $53,352‑$119,967 per year, prorated to the 0.9 FTE position.
