About the role
We are looking for a long haul truck driver to operate our trucks on inter‑provincial routes, delivering goods safely and efficiently across Canada. The role involves planning routes, handling cargo, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and adjust routes using computer equipment and GPS navigation to minimise fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Drive in mountainous terrain and maintain professionalism in customer service.
- Load and unload goods, including dangerous goods, and obtain required permits for international transport.
- Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Required profile
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, night shifts, weekends and overtime as needed.
- Physical capability to load and unload cargo and handle equipment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems.
- Experience using computer‑based route planning tools.
