Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. You will operate straight or articulated trucks on long‑distance routes, often as part of a two‑person team or convoy, delivering goods across various locations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and navigate long‑haul routes safely, using GPS and other navigation tools.
• Load, unload, tarp, and secure cargo to ensure safety and security.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections, including brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
• Maintain vehicle condition by checking tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units, and other equipment.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with central dispatch, relay information, and handle payments for goods.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and complete required documentation such as driver logbooks and incident reports.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence with Air‑Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work flexible hours.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on the road.
• Physical ability to sit for long periods and handle loading tasks.

Required skills

• Air‑Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence.
• Proficiency with GPS navigation and other communication systems.
