Logistics Coordinator

About the role

The Manitoulin Group of Companies is hiring a full-time Logistics Coordinator in Mississauga. The role handles customer requests for freight movement and works closely with logistics technicians, customer service representatives and sales staff on shipment and receipt information. It also involves building and maintaining carrier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all assigned customer requests for freight movement
• Communicate with logistics technicians, customer service representatives and sales staff about shipment and receipt information
• Build and maintain carrier relationships
• Negotiate with both customers and carriers
• Maintain and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various customers
• Complete all assigned training, take part in continuous improvement training and train others
• Communicate regularly with customers about shipments being handled
• Provide backup support to the team when required

Required profile

• Quick learner able to handle multiple tasks at once, stay focused and adapt to different challenges
• Able to carry out detailed procedures in a time-constrained environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency
• Able to work independently and within a team, with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
