Light Duty Cleaner – Custodial Associate (3‑month contract)

About the role

The Custodial Associate (Light Duty Cleaner) is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across designated areas of a terminal or facility. This is a 3‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. Shifts are available in the day (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or afternoon (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Dust, wipe, and polish ledges, windowsills, office furniture, chrome, stainless steel, and glass surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, restock dispensers, and empty waste containers.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and spot‑clean floors and carpeted areas according to established frequencies.
• Handle spills, medical waste, and litter removal using proper PPE.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, follow colour‑coded cloth protocols, and respond to radio calls.
• Complete pre‑checks before equipment use and secure keys and assigned tools.

Required profile

• Ability to work day or afternoon shifts as scheduled.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures, PPE guidelines, and radio communication protocols.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize immediate spill response.

Required skills

• Operating cleaning equipment (vacuum, mop, floor scrubber).
• Using colour‑coded cleaning cloths for specific tasks.
• Following radio communication protocol.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

What we offer

• Starting wage of $19.83 CAD per hour, with a $1 increase effective July 1 2026.
