Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

Seabird Island is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide culturally safe routine care to clients in the community. The role involves collaborating with doctors, registered nurses, and families to improve health outcomes while respecting First Nations traditions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise community members about health services and programs.
• Perform nursing functions according to established policies and guidelines.
• Document observations and interventions in medical records.
• Conduct initial home visits and refer clients to appropriate services.
• Administer medication, perform dressing changes, monitor vital signs, and provide foot care.
• Report client conditions to registered nurses and physicians.
• Coordinate travel services and accommodation for health‑related trips.
• Provide home support services such as meal preparation, personal care, and palliative care.
• Identify service gaps and inform management.

Required profile

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
