About the role

Lakehead Freightways Inc., part of the Manitoulin Group of Companies, is hiring a Truck & Coach Technician in Thunder Bay. The company describes itself as one of Canada's most successful LTL carriers, and its technicians are central to its success. The position is full-time with rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance as assigned
• Code and complete work orders and related paperwork
• Deliver and pick up trucks from third-party maintenance providers
• Work safely in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies

Required profile

• 310 Truck & Coach licence or third-year apprentice, registered with the Trades & Apprentice Board
• Valid driver's licence

What we offer

• Licensed mechanics earn $44.08 per hour; third-year apprentices earn $37.46 per hour
• $5,000 signing bonus for licensed 310T or 310J mechanics; $2,000 for registered apprentice mechanics
• Paid bi-weekly pay, rotating shifts (Monday to Thursday days/afternoons, 10-hour shifts; weekend nights, three 12-hour shifts paid for 40 hours)
• $500 per year tool allowance, $1,500 referral bonus
