Level 3 Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials based in Brampton, Ontario, is hiring a Level 3 operator to run its production line. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the operator keeps the line running, feeds raw materials through the process, clears jams, checks finished goods against quality specs and prepares products for shipment. The position requires working rotational shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions
• Feed raw materials properly through the manufacturing process and clear equipment jams
• Verify finished products against quality specifications and inspect raw and finished goods
• Enter waste and downtime data into the system and document production numbers using the PRODAC computerized system and hand-written reports
• Operate a counterbalance, propane-powered forklift
• Perform general housekeeping duties and additional duties as assigned

Required profile

• Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
• Comfortable standing for long periods, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds routinely, and walking or standing 90% of the shift
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Preferred: minimum 2 years' experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction, and 1 year of proven forklift experience
