About the role

A leading AI research lab is looking for experienced legal professionals to help shape how artificial intelligence understands and reasons about complex legal concepts. This part‑time, fully remote contract lets you apply your legal expertise to cutting‑edge AI research while working on a flexible schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review legal questions and evaluation sets across multiple practice areas.
• Assess AI‑generated legal responses for accuracy, clarity, and logical reasoning.
• Solve domain‑specific legal problems to benchmark model capabilities.
• Synthesize information from statutes, case law, and academic sources.
• Provide structured, detailed feedback to align AI systems with legal standards.

Required profile

• Advanced legal education (J.D., LL.M., S.J.D., or Ph.D. in Law) from a top university.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Exceptional written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to synthesize information across diverse legal sources.
• Preferably prior practice or industry experience (litigation, corporate, regulatory, etc.).
