Global Gender Justice Advisor

About the role

The Global Gender Justice Advisor provides strategic leadership to embed gender‑transformative approaches across World Renew’s development, humanitarian and peace‑building programmes. Reporting to the Director of Justice & Peace, the role works hybrid from Burlington, ON (or Byron Center, MI) to strengthen gender expertise throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical advisor on gender equality, guiding program design, monitoring, evaluation and results‑based management.
• Collaborate with Transformational Development, International Disaster Response and regional teams to ensure gender‑responsive programming.
• Support Regional Gender Justice Coordinators and partners with assessments, indicators and program adaptations.
• Design and deliver training, coaching and mentoring to build staff and partner capacity.
• Develop tools, case studies and learning resources based on emerging research and best practices.
• Contribute to organizational policies, standards and accountability frameworks for gender mainstreaming.
• Represent World Renew in external networks, coalitions and forums, providing gender expertise for advocacy and public engagement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in gender‑focused development, humanitarian or peace‑building work.
• Strong understanding of gender analysis, equity and inclusion for women, girls, persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and regions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
