Legal Research Analyst

About the role

The Legal Research Analyst supports product management by analysing legal information in Westlaw Canada and helping to improve tools for legal researchers. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to turn complex legal data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Identify relationships among legal information sets.
• Conduct core legal research to locate critical authority on specific issues.
• Make fine‑grain, qualitative judgments of legal content.
• Monitor performance of new products and enhancements through testing and grading evaluations.
• Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders to better leverage key legal research information.

Required profile

• JLL.B or J.D. degree (required); admission to the bar (preferred).
• 1‑3 years of legal experience (preferred).
• Strong legal research skills using Westlaw and other research tools.
• Ability to interpret, analyse, organise, and express complex legal material quickly and accurately.
• Capacity to handle multiple projects in a fast‑changing environment and meet deadlines independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• French language knowledge is a plus.
