About the role
The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a qualified teacher to deliver Learning Centre instruction in the mornings and provide SERT (Special Education Resource Teacher) support in the afternoons. Candidates must hold special education qualifications and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, equitable education.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective instruction for Learning Centre students during morning sessions.
- Provide SERT support to students with special needs in the afternoon.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with Ontario Human Rights Code and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
- Maintain accurate records and fulfill duties outlined in R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 298.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of permanent contract teaching experience with another board, verifiable through resume.
- Special education qualifications.
- Willingness to self‑identify with equity‑deserving groups (optional).
- Ability to provide two professional references, including current or most recent supervisor.
