Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Vista Projects is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to head a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering complex energy‑industry projects from concept through construction. You will be responsible for guiding design, managing schedules, and ensuring technical excellence across a portfolio of industrial processing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, allocate, and review work programs, updating ForecastWeb weekly to reflect project demands.
• Prepare weekly progress reports, track work completed, upcoming tasks, and discipline resource needs.
• Maintain and update project schedules, marking task status and identifying potential delays.
• Develop scopes of work, man‑hour estimates, schedules, and priorities for projects or proposals.
• Schedule and expedite department work, supervising engineers throughout design and development phases.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to the discipline engineering team.
• Guide the design and delivery of complex mechanical engineering solutions, ensuring alignment with budget and schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading mechanical engineering teams on large‑scale industrial or energy projects.
• Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate schedules and resources.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to project/program managers and stakeholders.
• Ability to develop accurate scopes, estimates, and work plans.
