About the role
The Labour Market Research & Community Engagement Analyst will support Seabird Island’s mission to empower Indigenous communities through evidence‑based workforce development. Reporting to the HR Manager, the analyst will design and conduct labour‑market surveys, analyse data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for community partners, employers and policy makers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and pilot census‑style questionnaires, sampling plans and methodological frameworks aligned with labour‑market indicators.
- Create and manage fieldwork plans, including enumerator training, mixed‑mode data collection (online, phone, in‑person, SMS) and quality‑control procedures.
- Perform data cleaning, weighting and statistical analysis (descriptive, cross‑tab, regression, time‑series) and integrate administrative datasets.
- Produce equity‑focused analyses disaggregated by demographics, geography and industry to identify employment gaps.
- Prepare clear reports and visual dashboards that inform workforce planning, employer outreach and policy advocacy.
- Maintain data‑governance standards covering privacy, consent, security and ethical use.
- Coordinate with vendors and community stakeholders to ensure smooth survey implementation.
Required profile
- University degree in economics, statistics, social science or a related field.
- Experience designing and executing large‑scale surveys or labour‑market research projects.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practices within Indigenous contexts.
