Senior HR Generalist

About the role

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Senior HR Generalist serves as the primary HR contact for Seabird Island entities, delivering strategic and operational HR support. The role partners with leaders to strengthen workplace practices, ensure legislative compliance, and drive culturally grounded, people‑centered solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR guidance and support to leaders across multiple entities and industries.
• Advise on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
• Interpret and apply employment legislation, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Lead or support investigations, conflict resolution, and complex employee relations matters.
• Facilitate training, leadership development, and employee growth initiatives.
• Support Occupational Health & Safety programs, accommodations, and return‑to‑work plans.
• Develop HR resources, reports, communications, and recommendations for leadership.
• Act as liaison between Seabird Island and its entities to ensure consistent HR practices.

Required profile

• Relationship‑driven HR professional with strategic insight and a hands‑on approach.
• Proven ability to coach leaders, resolve complex workplace challenges, and foster culturally safe environments.
• Experience managing employee relations, performance management, and workplace conflict resolution, preferably in the trades/labour sector.
