Kitchen Helper – Entry Level

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Helper to join our team at A-1 Restaurant in Killam. This entry‑level role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a fast‑paced kitchen environment and are eager to learn basic food preparation and sanitation practices. You will work alongside experienced staff to keep the kitchen clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment.
• Handle, store and safely use cleaning products according to company guidelines.
• Receive, unpack and store deliveries of food and supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage locations.
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash, ensuring proper disposal.
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors regularly to maintain a safe working environment.
• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit for daily service.

Required profile

• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
• Flexible scheduling with options for morning, evening, day and weekend shifts.
• Ability to work in a rural, fast‑moving restaurant setting.
• Participation in a youth employment program with mentorship and coaching opportunities.
