Junior/Senior Radiation Protection Specialist

About the role

A client of ours is looking for an experienced and dedicated Junior/Senior Radiation Surveyor to protect human health and environmental safety. The position is based at a high-profile client site in Ontario, Canada, with various remote locations available, and contributes directly to safety operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precise radiation and contamination surveys in nuclear facilities and industrial sites, following strict ES&H protocols.
• Identify, assess and control radiological and chemical hazards proactively.
• Develop, implement and enforce site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
• Inspect work areas for radiological and construction-related hazards.
• Lead pre-job briefings with personnel on risks and safety measures.
• Carry out air sampling and analyse the collected data.
• Maintain accurate records of surveys, data logs and system updates.
• Ensure hazardous areas are correctly posted and labelled in line with federal and site regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience for the Junior level and 5 years for the Senior level in a radiation protection role.
• High school diploma required; a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or a related STEM field is a strong asset.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
• Passed a Radiation Safety certification exam.
• Legally eligible to work in the country applied; no sponsorship available.

What we offer

• Pay of $48.00 per hour (Junior) or $56.00 per hour (Senior).
• Per diem of up to $150 per day.
• Bonus structure with contract completion and retention bonuses.
• Schedule Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days (40-hour week).
• Onsite work at a federal government or industrial client facility in Ontario.
