Junior Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join Deloitte’s Frontier Engineering team in Toronto. In this entry‑level, hands‑on position you will support the development of scalable applications and services, learning modern tools and AI‑assisted workflows while contributing to the delivery of strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software features under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, readable, and testable code.
• Assist in building APIs, backend services, and frontend components.
• Participate in debugging, testing, and troubleshooting issues.
• Apply development best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with team members during design and implementation phases.
• Leverage AI tools and modern development workflows to improve productivity.
• Contribute to documentation and technical artifacts as needed.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of software development experience.
• Solid understanding of programming concepts and data structures.
• Exposure to modern software engineering practices.
