Junior Software Developer – Java & AWS (Remote, Canada)

About the role
We are seeking a Junior Software Developer with at least one year of hands‑on experience in Java and AWS to join our growing engineering team. The role is remote within Canada, with a quarterly in‑office visit to Toronto for collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java.
- Assist in building and deploying cloud‑based solutions on AWS.
- Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code.
- Collaborate with senior developers on design, development, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies.
- Support application monitoring, debugging, and minor enhancements.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year of hands‑on Java development experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda).
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and backend development.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and willingness to learn.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
