Junior Litigation Counsel

About the role

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Junior Litigation Counsel will join Onni’s in‑house litigation team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of civil litigation matters across British Columbia, handling cases from pre‑litigation through resolution and supporting the company’s broader legal strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters including construction disputes, contract claims, leasing disputes, and regulatory proceedings.
• Instruct and supervise external counsel, set litigation budgets, and assess risk.
• Conduct early case assessments, develop litigation strategies, and advise internal stakeholders on exposure.
• Review pleadings, draft demand letters, settlement agreements, and related correspondence.
• Advise on commercial leasing disputes and landlord‑tenant matters across the portfolio.
• Support the broader legal team on transactional and corporate matters as needed.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia.
• 1‑3 years post‑call experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Sound commercial judgment with the ability to explain legal risk to non‑legal stakeholders.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
