Junior Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Designer to join the Equipment Technologies Team in Mississauga. Working under the supervision of the Lead Structural Designer, you will produce structural layouts, models and drawings that meet project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide design input throughout the project lifecycle, from layout and conceptual design to detailed engineering.
• Design mechanisms, subsystems and equipment involving mechanical, structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic components.
• Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, manufacturability, machining techniques and finishes.
• Produce engineering design packages ready for final checking and review in line with group practices.
• Assist the design team with structural design and detailing of larger systems.
• Communicate with technical managers, project team members, vendors and contractors regarding project aspects.
• Deliver submissions on schedule and participate in formal engineering review processes.

Required profile

• Junior‑level designer working under the direction of Lead Structural Designer and Design Coordinators.
• Ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues, contractors, management and suppliers.

Required skills

• Production of structural layouts, models and technical drawings.
• Design of mechanical, structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic components.
• Drawing review for accuracy, material selection, manufacturability and machining techniques.
• Preparation of engineering design packages following project and group standards.
