About the role

Join Nexus Energy’s Finance and Settlements team as a Junior Data Analyst Intern. This supervised, entry‑level placement offers hands‑on experience in financial analytics within the energy trading sector, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge to real‑world data challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize data from internal and external sources.
• Assist in analyzing datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Support data entry tasks while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Utilise Microsoft Excel and SQL for data manipulation and ad‑hoc analysis requests.
• Document data processes and keep datasets well‑structured.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business decisions.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of data analysis, statistics, and data management concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL or data‑visualisation tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
