IT Support and Security Systems Technician

About the role

Boardwalk is seeking an IT Support and Security Systems Technician to provide day‑to‑day technical assistance to associates and customers across its portfolio of rental properties. The role blends traditional IT help‑desk duties with hands‑on work on physical security technologies, offering a clear growth path toward building‑technology expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support for hardware (mobile devices, printers, VOIP phones), software installations, network connectivity, and anti‑virus solutions.
• Manage tickets and incidents using Fresh Service, ensuring timely resolution in line with service‑level expectations.
• Perform site visits, telephone, or email assistance and document all actions.
• Update firmware, apply patches, and maintain lifecycle of operational technology such as cameras, access‑control panels, and intercom systems.
• Support user account management, rights, and security groups.
• Provide remote assistance to off‑site personnel using appropriate tools.
• Assist with security‑system tasks, including access‑control administration and video retrieval from surveillance platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors for system performance and issue escalation.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving ability and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Comfort working in a small, close‑knit technical team.
• Willingness to respond to occasional after‑hours or weekend support requests.

Required skills

• Hardware troubleshooting (phones, tablets, printers).
• Software installation and anti‑virus/virus remediation.
• VOIP phone configuration and network support.
• Experience with ticketing platforms, specifically Fresh Service.
• Firmware updates, patch management, and lifecycle maintenance of cameras, access‑control devices, and intercoms.
• User account and security group administration.
• Remote support tools and techniques.
