IT Supervisor

About the role

Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is looking for an experienced IT professional to join its Corporate Services team in Ottawa. Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, the IT Supervisor leads the organization's technology function. Infrastructure and routine technical support are mainly delivered through managed service providers, which the Supervisor governs so they stay aligned with business priorities and meet performance and risk expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run the technology strategy, roadmap and operating plan, and prioritize, govern and report on the technology portfolio
• Advise the CAO on technology investments, service models, architecture, sourcing and risks, and coordinate modernization of enterprise applications, data platforms, integrations and legacy systems
• Set up governance for information, data, applications and technology, oversee application lifecycle management and champion data quality, access controls and responsible information sharing
• Lead cybersecurity governance, track risks, incidents and vulnerabilities, and oversee technology policies, standards, compliance and audit readiness
• Lead governance of major technology and security incidents, and oversee business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, recovery testing and critical-service resilience
• Own managed service providers and strategic vendors, plan and monitor the IT budget, contracts, licensing, procurement and forecasts, and negotiate contracts
• Oversee service management (incidents, changes, access, assets, onboarding and offboarding), maintain documentation and inventories, and coach IT staff, contractors and students
• Partner with business-unit leaders and communicate technology decisions, risks and priorities to stakeholders

Required profile

• Diploma or university degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, business analysis or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• 7+ years of progressive experience in information management, technology management, enterprise applications, data, cybersecurity, service delivery or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience leading staff and vendors and coordinating complex initiatives across business units and external partners
• Experience with technology strategy, budgets, contracts, risk, incidents, policies, application or data modernization and outsourced service delivery

Required skills

• Knowledge of technology governance, cybersecurity risk, privacy, data management, business continuity and audit controls
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, cloud ERP, Snowflake, Tableau or comparable enterprise technologies
• Understanding of service-management, project-delivery and technology-control frameworks, and vendor management, licensing and budgeting
