The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking an Investment Risk Modelling Co‑op Student/Intern for the Winter 2027 work term (January to April) to support the Investment Strategy & Risk team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the monitoring of day‑to‑day operations regarding market and counterparty risks.
• Assist in risk‑management oversight by preparing reports, analyses, and tools to measure risk.
• Develop risk‑reporting templates and leverage AI tools to enhance data visualisation and build dynamic, interactive reports.
• Document new processes and update manuals.
• Take on ad‑hoc projects using Python and Power BI, applying AI tools to automate repetitive tasks and streamline risk‑reporting processes.

Required profile

• University degree with courses in financial risk management and investment management.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• High level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, results‑oriented, and resourceful with strong relationship‑building ability.
• Ability to meet deadlines while delivering high‑quality work.
• Passion for investment management, dedication to hard work, and commitment to ethical standards.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
