Investment Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for an Investment Consultant to join its Investment team in Montreal, working under a hybrid model with at least three days per week in the office. The role serves institutional clients such as defined benefit pension plans, endowments and foundations, helping them make risk-adjusted return decisions that fit their liabilities and spending commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior investment consultants on mid-sized and large client accounts, take part in client meetings and grow in responsibility.
• Serve as the primary consultant for small and medium-sized clients: deliver services, identify issues and opportunities, make recommendations, manage relationships and lead meetings.
• Show expertise in investment strategies, defined benefit plans and related regulatory and governance matters, and contribute to client discussions.
• Help organizations integrate ESG factors into their policies and investment practices.
• Build strong client relationships, find ways to expand Marsh's services and improve client satisfaction.
• Manage and mentor junior team members while keeping operations running smoothly and client work delivered on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or a related field, with strong quantitative and analytical coursework.
• Five to ten years of experience working with defined benefit plans as a consultant or relationship manager.
• Five to ten years of investment experience, with defined benefit plan experience as a consultant, relationship manager or investment manager.
• Strong communication skills in English and French, as the role involves regular interaction with clients and colleagues outside Quebec.
• Good knowledge of the institutional investment industry and financial markets.

Required skills

• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• CFA or FICA certification is considered an asset.
