Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will establish and lead MEDA’s independent audit function, delivering risk‑based assurance across global operations. This senior position reports directly to the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee and supports the organization’s mission to create business solutions to poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain a risk‑based internal audit framework, including charter, policies, procedures and governance cadence.
• Develop, present and obtain approval for the annual internal audit plan and oversee its execution.
• Lead audits of program operations, donor compliance, investment management, procurement, fraud risk, cybersecurity and data governance across multiple countries.
• Report audit results, key risks and control deficiencies directly to the FAR committee and maintain audit dashboards for remediation tracking.
• Conduct enterprise risk assessments, provide advisory input on control design, and support special investigations such as fraud or whistle‑blower matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with a professional designation (CPA, CA, CIA or equivalent).
• 10 + years of experience performing internal audit, risk or assurance functions and leading an audit function.
• Experience working in international, multi‑country donor‑funded environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
