Indigenous Mental Health & Addiction Worker – Contract (Full‑time)

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate professional to deliver culturally responsive mental health and addiction services to Indigenous individuals (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) in the Muskoka and Parry Sound districts. The role can be placed as a Case Manager or Therapist depending on qualifications, and involves full‑time, 35‑hour weeks on a contract basis through March 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive case management or therapeutic interventions for clients experiencing mental health and substance‑use challenges.
- Conduct crisis intervention, psychological rehabilitation, and support planning.
- Collaborate with community partners, Elders, healers and Indigenous knowledge holders to ensure culturally safe care.
- Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program evaluation.
- Participate in team meetings and community outreach within the B’saanibamaadwin program.
Required profile
- For Case Manager: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in human services, health sciences, social work or related field, or equivalent experience.
- For Therapist: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing or related field, and current registration with a relevant Ontario regulatory college.
- Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories and the impacts of colonisation.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities in Muskoka or Parry Sound, and willingness to apply culturally safe practices.
