HR Generalist – Oakville

About the role

The HR Generalist will support the HR Manager in delivering the strategic HR calendar for DP World Contract Logistics in Oakville. This position acts as a business partner, handling day‑to‑day HR operations and ensuring compliance with policies and collective agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Answer routine HR inquiries related to records, wages, absences, hiring, and policies.
• Assist in recruitment: post jobs, review resumes, interview candidates, conduct orientations, and complete new‑hire paperwork.
• Deliver safety orientation, risk assessments and ongoing safety training for new employees.
• Support payroll processing and maintain payroll‑related records.
• Update and maintain employee information in HRIS and other systems.
• Prepare and gather data for HR reports and seniority lists.
• Work with employee representatives to resolve grievances under the collective agreement.
• Ensure accurate benefits enrollment and manage changes.
• Investigate workplace incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business or related field.
• Professional experience in HR, payroll, customer service or office duties within logistics, manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Understanding of local employment laws and collective agreements.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience using HRIS systems.
