HR Business Partner – Strategic HR Leader

About the role

Our client in Grande Prairie is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to act as a strategic advisor to leadership. The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, HR programs and organizational development while ensuring compliance with Alberta employment legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to develop, communicate and implement HR policies, procedures and best practices.
• Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations and conflict resolution.
• Support the development and execution of HR strategies, programs and departmental objectives.
• Coordinate and facilitate employee training, onboarding and professional development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with employment standards, occupational health and safety, benefits legislation and other applicable laws.
• Assist with organizational development, workforce planning and change management initiatives.
• Maintain accurate HR records and contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 4 years in an exempt/professional‑level HR role.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with leaders and employees at all levels.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
