HR Advisor/Generalist II – Contract (Calgary)

About the role

Brunel is seeking an experienced HR Advisor/Generalist II on a one‑year contract to support business strategy execution in Calgary. You will partner with leadership and employees to ensure compliance, resolve employee relations matters, and promote an inclusive workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and ensure compliance with HR policies, company processes, and relevant employment laws.
• Partner with management on employee/labor relations and conduct internal investigations as assigned.
• Serve as the first point of contact for line managers on employee relations issues, inquiries, and complaints.
• Deliver HR services such as performance assessment, staffing and development, case management, and policy interpretation.
• Analyze trends and metrics, identify people challenges, make recommendations, and implement HR action plans.
• Promote leadership effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, and compliance with internal and external HR requirements.
• Identify, implement, or lead improvements to HR processes with minimal direction.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources and staffing.
• Post‑secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
