Hourly Early Childhood Educator – UBC Okanagan

About the role

The Early Childhood Educator (Aux) will provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children at the UBC Okanagan Child Care Centre on an hourly basis.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement age‑appropriate activities that align with the British Columbia Early Learning Framework.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues while modelling curiosity and respect for diversity.
• Supervise children using positive guidance techniques and ensure health, safety, and infection‑control practices.
• Document observations, report suspected abuse or illness, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with the Senior Early Childhood Educator and Program Manager to meet program policies and compliance requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and community events.

Required profile

• Qualified Early Childhood Educator with current BC ECE certification.
• Current Emergency Child Care First Aid certification and clear Criminal Record Check.
• Energetic, welcoming, and able to build strong relationships with children and families.
• Organised, patient, and capable of exercising sound judgment in independent and collaborative settings.
• Creative problem‑solver who approaches challenges positively.
