Hotel Service Worker (Auxiliary)

About the role

The Hotel Service Worker (Auxiliary) joins the housekeeping team at West Coast Suites on the UBC Vancouver campus. You will ensure guest rooms and public areas are clean, well‑stocked, and presented to a high standard while providing courteous service to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, and restocking supplies.
• Perform general cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and washing surfaces in public areas.
• Collect and dispose of waste, and transport linen to designated areas.
• Respond to guest requests and problems, coordinating with other staff to resolve issues promptly.
• Follow safety procedures and hotel protocols during all tasks.
• Work rotating day, evening, and night shifts as assigned.

• Strong customer‑service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Physical capability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
