Host Ambassador – Guelph

About the role

The Host Ambassador supports the Canada Homestay Network by qualifying new and existing host families, ensuring they meet the organization’s standards of care. This permanent, hybrid position is based in the Guelph region and involves both sales‑focused outreach and relationship‑building with host families.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person interviews and home visits for new hosts and revisits for existing hosts to verify compliance with standards.
• Perform pre‑screening phone calls, enter data into the host database, and manage annual host reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of criminal checks, host agreements and other documentation following CHN protocols.
• Support the host team in meeting monthly recruitment targets and build a supportive local community of host families.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and sales skills with a relationship‑focused approach.
• Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail and problem‑solving capability.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle with sufficient insurance, a mobile phone, digital camera and high‑speed internet access.
• Ability to travel within the Guelph region and surrounding areas and pass a criminal record check.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of database software (e.g., Filemaker Pro).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Teams.
• Experience using an email client or webmail for business communication.
