Holder of Records Trainee

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Power Generation team is expanding and seeks a Holder of Records Trainee to ensure safety of work groups by applying Work Protection Code and procedures. The role involves isolating equipment, authorizing work, and maintaining compliance during outages, projects and modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review policies and procedures with workers to ensure understanding.
• Provide Holder of Record duties for outages, projects and modification work at client sites.
• Verify work protection isolations and ensure equipment is de‑energized before work.
• Oversee, observe and coach workers, track schedules and training.
• Ensure required documentation such as PC1s and bioassays are submitted on time.

Required profile

• Completion of Grade 12; Level 3.2‑5 Work Protection or LOTO training is an asset.
• 5+ years of trade experience; supervisory, project management and reading flowsheets experience are assets.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Work Protection / LOTO procedures.
• Reading flowsheets or drawings.
• Project management fundamentals.
