Health Care Aide – Part/Full Time

About the role

The Health Care Aide (HCA) provides direct personal care and health support to clients across the lifespan in a hospital setting. Working under functional supervision, the HCA collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, dignified, and patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
• Monitor and report changes in health status, behaviour, and signs of distress.
• Deliver care in line with documented care plans and delegated tasks.
• Promote client comfort, engagement, and safety throughout each shift.
• Participate in continuous improvement by reflecting on feedback and learning opportunities.

Required profile

• Registered with a valid practice permit from the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) before start date.
• At least 4 months of full‑time equivalent acute medicine experience in the past year.
• Competent English communication, with proof of proficiency if required.
• Commitment to professionalism, responsibility, and accountability.
