Head Coach – Golf

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Head Coach to lead its men’s and women’s varsity golf programs. This senior position oversees all aspects of coaching, athlete development, and program administration within a five‑year fixed‑term appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, manage, and coordinate the men’s and women’s golf teams, ensuring competitive performance.
• Select, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff.
• Develop and implement annual and five‑year program plans aligned with NAIA, Canada West, and university policies.
• Recruit high‑potential student‑athletes and guide them through eligibility and compliance requirements.
• Orient athletes to university policies, academic expectations, and athletic regulations.
• Oversee program budgeting, scheduling, and logistical arrangements for practices and competitions.

Required profile

• Proven experience coaching golf at the collegiate or university level.
• Strong knowledge of NAIA and Canada West bylaws and university athletic regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a coaching staff and manage a varsity sports program.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills for student‑athletes.
