School-Based Math Facilitator – Term Position

About the role

The School-Based Math Facilitator will support student achievement in priority elementary schools across the Eastern Ontario region. Working under the Board Math Lead and the Principal of Curriculum and Student Success, the role focuses on Grades 3, 6 and 9 to enhance mathematics learning and instructional practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑class facilitation and targeted support for students needing additional math assistance.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement high‑impact instructional practices and early‑intervention strategies.
• Monitor student progress toward improvement targets and report findings in line with Growing Success and Board directives.
• Deliver job‑embedded professional development to build teacher capacity in numeracy instruction.
• Travel to assigned rural schools and support multiple sites within the family of priority schools.

Required profile

• Valid Ontario College of Teachers certificate.
• Primary/Junior divisional and math qualifications; intermediate math qualifications for secondary support.
• Special education experience or qualifications supporting students with special education programs.
• Deep knowledge of the Ontario math curriculum (2020‑2021) and assessment practices.
• Demonstrated leadership in collaborative school teams and professional development delivery.
• Valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel.
