Group Manager, Third Party Transport

About the role

Lead Labatt’s third‑party carrier operations for loads originating in Ontario. You will ensure timely pick‑up and delivery, manage performance, and support the broader transport network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all third‑party carrier operations, including load tendering, follow‑up, and performance monitoring.
• Support daily fleet operations in Ontario and ensure compliance with T1 and T2 transport requirements.
• Oversee returnable packaging, pallet requirements, and intra‑Ontario/inter‑provincial shipments.
• Control costs and identify efficiency opportunities across the transport network.
• Track transport KPIs such as tender acceptance, on‑time delivery, and capacity utilization.
• Maintain carrier contracts, enforce safe shipping practices, and manage union/management relationships.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to unionized transport team members.
• Collaborate with Procurement, National Logistics, and BSC teams to optimize the network and share best practices.

Required profile

• University degree in business, logistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven supervisory experience leading an operations facility.
• Strong logistics and supply‑chain background with high‑volume transport management.
• Track record of achieving results, attention to detail, and ability to drive change.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Required skills

• Experience with Transport Management System (TMS) and load boards.
• Familiarity with SAP.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
