About the role
Alton Greenhouses is seeking energetic individuals to join their team as greenhouse labourers for the upcoming season. The role involves hands‑on work in a fast‑paced outdoor environment, ensuring the health and quality of bedding and seasonal plants.
Key responsibilities
- Clean crops and greenhouse areas.
- Cut horticultural crops and perform seed cutting.
- Tie, secure, and transplant plants, seedlings, and rooted cuttings.
- Weed, mix and prepare soils, and plant bulbs and seeds.
- Pot, re‑pot, and water plants, lawns, and gardens.
- Handle heavy loads up to 23 kg and maintain a clean work area.
Required profile
- No formal degree, certificate or diploma required.
- Ability to work in hot, outdoor conditions.
- Physically demanding work: standing, bending, crouching, kneeling for extended periods.
- Fast‑paced environment with repetitive tasks.
- Attention to detail and good hand‑eye coordination.
- Capability to handle loads up to 23 kg (50 lb).
