About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support the Health Data Analytics micro‑certificate program. This part‑time, fully online role involves coordinating course content, assisting students, and ensuring smooth delivery of three five‑week courses.

Key responsibilities

  • Update and maintain course materials on Canvas, including announcements, assignment due dates, and Zoom office‑hour links.
  • Respond to student inquiries in weekly Canvas discussions.
  • Grade assignments using provided rubrics and record final grades in the Gradebook.
  • Attend a weekly one‑hour office‑hour session as needed.
  • Identify, document, and help fix any errors or issues in course content for future iterations.

Required profile

  • Enrolled in a graduate program in data science, health sciences, medicine or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of data science, statistics and machine learning.
  • Experience or education in health data analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with the Canvas learning management system.
