Government Grants Consultant

About the role

Ryan is hiring a Government Grants Consultant in Mississauga. The Consultant prepares business cases and funding applications for clients, covering projects such as business expansion, research and development, capital investment and HR initiatives, and assists managers and senior consultants with funding analysis, deliverable monitoring and the firm's grant program database.

Key responsibilities

• Write and prepare business proposals and funding applications of $5,000 to $20,000,000, working with managers and clients on drafts and reviews of business plans and financial statements and forecasts
• Research proposals using online sources, market reports, client data and interview notes, and help write up to 100-page submissions
• Assist with compliance and reporting after grant approval
• Filing and storing project documents and keeping the file management system consistent
• Support administrative duties such as CRM recordkeeping, emails and reporting, and meeting preparation for clients and the team
• Help with new program research and occasional special projects like blog writing or marketing support

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Humanities, Social Sciences, Business/Administration, Journalism, Accounting or Science
• 1+ years of industry experience; strong written and verbal communication, decision-making and analytical skills
• Preferred: proposal writing, business and marketing plan preparation, strategic planning or project management experience, ideally in manufacturing or advanced technology, and understanding of accounting and finance statements
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and a valid driver's license
