Gift Shop Clerk – Retail Services

About the role

The Gift Shop Clerk provides courteous service to patients, visitors and staff in the Health Sciences Centre gift shop. The role promotes sales, assists volunteers and contributes to the department’s revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, assess their needs and promote sales opportunities.
• Provide on‑site guidance, support and training to gift‑shop volunteers.
• Handle cash and lottery transactions accurately and maintain store appearance.

Required profile

• Complete high school education (Manitoba standards).
• Previous retail cash and lottery experience preferred.
• Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry checks.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending and lifting moderately heavy items.
